Synthetic Biology High School Outreach
March 2017
Facilitated an outreach event for an AP Biology class of 56 students at Pattonville High School in St. Charles, Missouri.
This lab allowed the students to get hands on experience with basic molecular biology and microbiology techniques (i.e., bacterial cell culture, transformation of DNA, visualizing fluorescent reporters, etc.).
Coral Conservation Team Leader (May 2012 — August 2012)
501 c (3) non-profit conservation organization created to develop off-shore coral nurseries and reef restoration programs for critically endangered coral reef specimens.
Worked in the CRF office and aided in the Adopt-A-Coral fundraising program.
Aided in maintenance and expansion of the underwater coral nursery. ~60 hours of underwater time.
Led groups of 5-10 volunteers in performing coral reef restoration.
USC Aquarium Caretaker
August 2010 –May 2012
Maintained and cared for three coral reef aquariums at USC 3 to 4 times a week
Designed and installed educational placards around aquariums.
